Freedom in Christ Course; day 17 Nugget
Who Has Faith?
Is it just Christians who have faith? Or should we include people of other religions? Do we exclude atheists because they don’t believe in any God?
Actually everyone has faith in something or someone. From birth we grow up absorbing beliefs and views from the world and people around us that shape how we see reality. As we grow we start to wrestle with some of the “big” questions ourselves, and whether we recognize it or not, we come to some form of settled understanding in our minds about how things actually work. Everyone believes in something or someone, and the view of the world that we build up shapes our decisions and actions. Whether it’s choosing to stop at a red light, or to fast during Ramadan (as Muslims do), or to insist that we all evolved from animals and that there is no God, or to love other people because Jesus first loved us – we all act based on what we believe, and demonstrate faith in something or someone.
What do your actions say about what you believe?
