Stronghold-Buster Example 1 - Fear of Disapproval

The lie: that I am not good enough or unacceptable

Effects in my Life
Feeling intimidated; fearing people; compromising my convictions; changing my appearance; anxious about saying and doing the right thing.
  • You did not choose me, but I chose you (John 15:16)
  • [He] has put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee (2 Corinthians 1:22)
  • He will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing (Zephaniah 3:17)
  • Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart (1 Samuel 16:7)
  • The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Psalm 118:6)
  • We have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts (1 Thessalonians 2:4)

Dear Father God, I renounce the lie that I am not good enough or unacceptable. I announce the truth that You chose me and that I have received a new heart and therefore I have Your seal of approval. Even when others are not pleased with me, You take great delight in me and Your opinion matters much more. I now choose to please You rather than other people, and rely on Your promise to be with me wherever I go as I share the good news with others. Amen.
